Outing to Broons, on Thursday March 20, 2025

broons ICC 03 25On Thursday March 20, 2025, twenty club members in their interesting cars met in Broons for a friendly day out. This was organized by Linda, to whom we owe our sincere thanks.

mccThe first venue was the Marcellini Classic Cars Garage.
Upon our arrival, tea, coffee, and cakes were offered by our club, prepared and served by Linda.
We were then warmly welcomed by the entire garage team, Thomas, Lucas et Leon.
They introduced us to their business with explanations and information.
Thomas explained:
"This business was created three years ago from scratch, in a century-old building that once saw the construction of tractors and garden machinery. We wanted to give the atmosphere of an old garage. We repair and recondition all types of vehicles, from the 1920s to the 1980s, primarily through mechanical work.
We also offer storage, consignment, and sales, particularly of U.K. cars that we import from the USA. It is with pleasure that I welcome you to our premises today. Having enthusiasts with us is the essence of our longevity. That's also our goal."
The "apero" was offered by the garage and warmly received by our members.

les dineuxAfter this first visit of rich discoveries, Linda led the convoy taking us to "La Table du Duo" in Trémeur. A well-deserved break with a good meal and a friendly atmosphere. We had a recap of future association projects & the conversations were very constructive & lively.

kastell karrThe afternoon was devoted to visiting a second workshop, Kastell Karr in Broons.
We travelled there in convoy, parking, as in the morning, amongst the garage's many prestigious vintage vehicles.
Antoine & Emmanuel presented their company, sharing their experience on the challenges of car restoration.
Emmanuel explained:
"Antoine and I are childhood friends.
For years, we'd been working on both modern & older vehicles in my family's garage that was founded by my Grandfather in 1948.
We both have a passion for classic cars. We had restored our own Renault 8 "Gordini" & driven together in Rallies.
Our "Vintage Garage" was created two years ago. A project we had dreamt about. We wanted a structure truly linked to cars of collection. With our tools and expertise, in mechanics, bodywork and upholstery, we have created a showcase of what we are capable.
We have been in this new purpose built building for only one month."

The outing ended on a friendly note, with a snack provided by the garage and fascinating discussions between ICC members and the restorers.

A big thank you to the garages we visited for their welcome and to all the participants for this enriching day.
A few members are now considering using these two garages in the future for their vehicles. Quotes have been requested.

Thanks again once again to Linda.
