With the coming of Brexit things will undoubtedly change for vehicles brought over from the UK. I think this change will mainly concern the import paperwork which at the moment is quite simple as the UK is still an EU Member State. After January 31st it won't be & although no-one is yet sure when any changes will be implimented, change theyMore certainly will. When they do & DOUANES become involved, what will it mean? This is their current information on private vehicle imports -
Avant de mettre votre véhicule neuf en circulation pour la première fois, vous devez l'immatriculer. Introduction Vous devez effectuer des formalités douanières à l'importation en France métropolitaine, si vous achetez… More

IMPORTANT - info on importing cars to France.

If you have a car which you wish to import into France now or in the near future then my strong advice is to read the following NOW!

In order to import and register any vehicle you need a Quittus Fiscal from your local service des impots. (cerfa 1993). This is a very simple, free, 5 minuteMore over-the-counter job.

After doing some asking around it seems that the most likely situation after the end of January is that we will no longer be able to do this and instead need to get the form certificat de dédouanement 846A and more than likely pay tax on the import from a non-EU country. I wouldn't be surprised if at this point there is considerable… More

BOO finally has her Carte gris;-) I wonder if that's the last classic I'll bring over? On that subject I did the Quittus fiscal in Loudeac last week for a car I'd bought for my son. I asked them if they'd be issuing Quittus after the 31st and they had no idea...

This is a bit of a long shot but has anyone got an old Mini in bits at the moment or possibly an old mini steering rack. I think a LHD rack would be better but either could help. I would like to compare it to aMore Ferrari Dino 246 rack to see how similar they are. Just come across a possible problem with my build and had an idea. Any help gratefully appreciated.

Experience recommendation wanted re MGF diagnostic tool. The vehicle is a 1998 1.8i original French LHD. The owner is thinking of buying an obd obd2 car fault code reader/ scanner branded by Autel. These are for sale on eBay at very competitive prices. Does anyone have any experience of these or any other MGF specific diagnostic tool?? The info read out can be in English as the owner speaks fluent English. All recommendations welcome.

Hi All. I've had a problem that i guess a lot of you share. In this warm damp weather keeping the car in a garage or barn still seems to leave the car soaking wet with condensation. I've just bought three ofMore these for my cars and they are utterly brilliant so I thought I'd pass it on. They are not 'tailored' but merely small/medium and large and I bought three 'small'. They all fit beautifully over a 2CV, Elise and 7 so most old cars just need that size...

Well a lovely morning - weather man wrong again as we had sun and no rain. Blew the weeds out of the MGBGT and arrived at the System-U carpark to find about 100 cars of every age and type. Lovely to see so manyMore young people and immaculate Alpines next to tatty MX5's. My kind of meeting, though the venue was grim - hoping to persuade them to come to the heart of Brittany in the summer...
